Results:

Nationally: The Liberal Party of Canada has won the most electoral districts with 157. That breaks down to 5,915,950 votes or 33.1%. The Conservatives picked up 121 electoral districts with 6,155,662 votes or 34.4%.

The riding of Red Deer-Lacombe: Conservative incumbent Blaine Calkins has been re-elected. 

The riding of Red Deer-Mountain View: Conservative incumbent  Earl Dreesehn has been re-elected.

Today is the day!

Election day for the federal election 2019 is finally here. Make sure to tune in to Sunny 94.1 FM all Monday evening as we will be providing you with live election results as they happen.

Polls are open today in Alberta from 7:30 am, with the polls closing at 7:30 pm, and the official results from our province should start rolling in shortly after, while we should be getting polling numbers from out East sooner than that. 

All information about registering to vote, or finding out who or where to vote can be found here at the Elections Canada website, where you can also view the official national results as they happen.

Below is a list of all the candidates in our area, as well as the location they represent. You can click on each of the candidate's names for more information on them.  

You can also find more information about the various candidate forums held in the past few weeks, including the one in Lacombe, in Rimbey, and at the Red Deer College.

Red Deer-Lacombe

This riding is made up of Lacombe County, Ponoka County, as well as Red Deer and Red Deer County that is north of the David Thompson Highway, as well as five First Nation Communities. In the 2015 election, Conservative Blaine Calkins won with 70% of the votes.

Red Deer-Mountain View

 

This riding is made up of parts of the towns of Innisfail, Bowden, Carstairs, and Sundre, as well as Mountain View County, parts of the City of Red Deer and Red Deer County that are south of the David Thompson Highway. In the 2015 election, Conservative Earl Dreeshen won with 74% of the votes.
