Lacombe Days will be happening in full force over the course of the next few days. Although the event is one day shorter than usual there will be no shortage of fun activities to take part in. Here’s a look at some of the activities going on this weekend.

Love Where You Live Scavenger Hunt

Begins at 9:00 AM

Gather a team or head out by yourself for a chance to win prizes through a scavenger hunt with clue located throughout Lacombe.

 

Crafts Games and More!

10 AM to 12 PM

Head to the McMan Central office  for crafts, face painting, a bouncy castle and more!

 

Sunny 94/ Lacombe Kinsmen Barbeque (4720 Highway 2A)

11 AM to 1 PM

Head to Sunny 94 for a barbecue with the Lacombe Kinsmen and the Track on Two. Enjoy delicious barbeque for free with live music by Amy Metcalfe. A donation to the Lacombe Kinsmen will give you a chance to win tickets to Ben Chase at the Track on Two on Saturday evening.

 

Michener House Museum Tours (5036 51 Street)

1 PM to 4:30 PM

Visit the birthplace of Rt. Hon. Roland Michener, Governor General of Canada and explore a bit of Lacombe’s history.

 

Blacksmithing Demonstrations (5020 49 Street)

1PM to 4:30 PM

Check out some local blacksmiths at work at the Blacksmith Shop Museum.

Wolf Creek Building Supplies Drive-In Movie, in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters

10:30 PM

Show your support for Big Brothers and Big Sisters Lacombe by attending their drive-in showing of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Tickets will cost $10 per car and can be purchased here.

Get creative and learn more about the Lacombe Arts Endowment Fund.  Activity stations will be located in South Centennial Hall, and story time upstairs. 

 

Lacombe Community Market (at the Lacombe Memorial Centre)

10 AM to 4PM

Ice Cream Social at Oodles of Chocolate (4915 50 Avenue)

 

Show and Shine at Lacombe Memorial Centre

10 AM to 4PM

Register your bike for free in order to put a stop to bicycle theft.

 

Kids Coral (at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex)

Check out inflatables, face painting, and a petting zoo. Spandy Andy will also be visiting at 2PM.

 

Standardbred Horse Races  (Track on 2)

Gates open at 2PM, Post time 3:10 PM

Live music by Ben Chase will be at 7PM.

 

Beer and Wing Garden (at the Lacombe Memorial Centre courtyard) (Ages 18+)

4PM to 10 PM

Bring $10 for 10 wings made by local restaurants in Lacombe. Live music will be by the RoJo’s and Randi Boulton.
