A new club at Father Lacombe Catholic School aims to brighten people's day by spreading kindness.

The Kind Club was started by Kindergarten Teacher Laurie McIntosh, with all students welcome to join.

The goal is simple, spread some joy by handing out high fives and compliments.

Club member grade 3 student Mika Prins says they were inspired by a video they watched "there was this guy who made a comment that said can I help anyone with anything and then he walked around to different people to help them but they didn't why, they thought they could only be kind with money but that's not true you can be kind any way".

The club has an upcoming project which will pit them against another kindness club across the globe, to see who can perform the most acts of kindness.

The students are really excited, and can't wait to see where the other club is from.

Mika says their goal is to fill everyones bucket, which she describes as having an imaginary bucket on everyones head, and one kind word or gesture puts a drop in that persons bucket.
