On January 10th, Innisfail RCMP were on patrol in Innisfail, and spotted a vehicle had been reported stolen out of Red Deer.

While interacting with the occupants, one of the officers saw a firearm which one of the occupants was attempting to conceal. All four occupants of the vehicle were arrested safely, and with no injuries or property damage.

The vehicle was searched and police located three firearms, two of which were loaded and sawed off, a large quantity of various types of ammunition, several sets of brass knuckles, several knives, a conducted energy weapon, body armour, identity documents, a suspected explosive device and a quantity of a substance believed to be fentanyl were seized.

The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit were called in from Edmonton to deal with the explosive device.

A total of 73 charges relating to weapons, body armour, drugs, property and identity documents have been laid against:

·        44 year old Amber Achtemichuk of Red Deer

·        23 year old Kolton Dalkin, of Red Deer

·        18 year old Tyson Taylor of Rimby

·        32 year old Jonathan Wilson-Martin of Springbrook

All four parties were brought before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded into custody. Achtemichuk and Taylor will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on January 11th, while Dalkin and Wilson-Martin will make their first appearance in Red Deer Provincial Court on January 14th.
