From Didsbury RCMP: Didsbury RCMP have executed a search warrant and laid a number of charges following an investigation into two assaults.

The series of events started on March 14th when a male who was walking, was repeatedly hit in the head from behind with an object. The investigation by Didsbury RCMP and Calgary RCMP General Investigation Section suggested that this assault was a case of mistaken identity, and the victim was not the intended target. Two days later, on March 16th, the intended victim was knocked unconscious outside a business. Both victims were not hospitalized and are recovering from their injuries. The evidence revealed both assaults had been committed by the same individuals. RCMP also allege that there was a plot to kill the intended victim over a child custody dispute.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence in Mountain View County which was completed with the assistance of the RCMP Emergency Response Team on March 23. Police found a firearm, stolen property, and drugs at the residence.
