Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says outdoor gatherings are permitted for those in continuing care facilities as well.

“Facility operators are now permitted to use outdoor designated spaces on site for outdoor visits with a maximum of five people including the resident,” said Hinshaw adding “If residents are able to go off-site they can participate in a social gathering outside with up to nine people.”

She says residents and visitors should follow social distancing rules, wear a mask, and stay home if they are ill.

Dr. Hinshaw also noted that the province is putting together sector specific data in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic to provide a bit more information as to what industries have contributed to COVID-19 spread.

“We are working to put together a summary of the sector specific data that we have from all of our follow-up post relaunch. We will be making that available when it is complete in the coming weeks,” said Hinshaw.
