Red Deer Co. near Elnora Lousana and DelburneRed Deer Co. near Pine Lake

 

2:36 pm Environment Canda has issued a wind warning and a severe thunder watch for most of Central Alberta.

Check for loose objects around your home and make certain items such as lawn chairs, patio tables, trampolines and garbage cans are stored away or tied down.

  • Red Deer Co. near Elnora Lousana and Delburne
  • Red Deer Co. near Penhold Innisfail and Bowden
  • Red Deer Co. near Pine Lake
  • Red Deer Co. near Spruce View and Red Lodge Prov. Park
  • Red Deer Co. near Sylvan Lake and Stephansson House
  • Co. of Paintearth near Halkirk and Big Knife Prov. Park
  • Co. of Stettler near Big Valley
  • Co. of Stettler near Botha and Gadsby

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Strong west to northwest winds will develop this evening with gusts possibly exceeding 100 km/h. Winds will then begin to diminish by Monday morning.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

A developing low-pressure system will bring rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms to much of central Alberta today.

Some of these thunderstorms may become severe in nature.
