The Town of Blackfalds held their official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of Tutty Pond Park on Friday, June 21st.

Complete with a free BBQ, the opening paid tribute to long-time residents and dedicated community volunteer Wayne Tutty and his family, and thank them for their continued effort to help beautify Blackfalds and make it a great place to live.

Tutty Pond is located on the south end of Broadway Ave in Blackfalds, across from the Co-op Gas Bar.

The Town had been in possession of that land since 2017 when the Tutty family first donated it.

Development of the pond and park had a cost of about $90,000 but is included in the construction costs of the Broadway Avenue realignment project.

The new park features a paved walking path and leading to a pier and viewpoint overlooking the pond.
