Police in Rocky Mountain House have arrested one adult male and two male youths in connection with a number of incidents involving pellet guns.

On Nov. 18, two separate occurrences in the evening led to victims being hit by pellets fired from a suspect vehicle.

The vehicle was identified by RCMP and on Nov. 20, the vehicle was subject to a stop and the suspects were arrested.

The investigation led the suspects arrested to be connected to a prior occurrence on Nov. 5 where another victim was hit by a pellet.

One adult male and two male youths have been charged in connection with the three different incidents.

They are each facing 10 criminal charges including:

  • aggravated assault
  • criminal negligence causing bodily harm, and
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, et al.

All three have been released, with conditions, from custody.  The youth are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 21 and on Jan. 22.  The adult is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16.

A publication ban prevents the release of the name of the accused adult.

“I ask that the community members in Rocky Mountain House who, understandably, feel angry about these incidents, be patient with the judicial process” says Sergeant Trevor Shea, of Rocky Mountain House RCMP Detachment. “These were unsettling occurrences, and I thank the residents who worked together with the RCMP to solve and put an end to this.”
