At around 10:30 Saturday morning, Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for most of Central Alberta.

This means that conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe in nature and be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.
