From the City of Red Deer:

Almost everyone in the city is impacted by our unpredictable winter weather and there are no perfect solutions to managing snow and ice. Every year The City evaluates and makes improvements to the Snow and Ice Control program, balancing safety, access and costs while minimizing impacts to our road users.

This year, The City wants to hear from residents about their experiences and ideas for improvements.

Between February 12 and March 31, residents can participate in one of four Snow Workshops, provide their input online or interact with staff at various locations and events throughout the city.

The online survey is available starting today by visiting www.reddeer.ca/snow and there are four Snow Workshops planned for the month of March. The workshops are family friendly; child care will be available onsite for the evening sessions.

Workshop dates include:

Tuesday, March 3

North Side Community Centre 6 – 8 p.m.

Wednesday, March 4

Festival Hall 6 – 8 p.m.

Tuesday, March 24

Notre Dame High School (gathering area) 6 – 8 p.m.

Wednesday, March 25

Golden Circle 3 – 5 p.m.

All residents who share their thoughts, whether online, at a workshop or at a pop-up event will be entered to win one of two $150 Visa gift cards for participating.

Information gathered from the workshops and online survey will be used by administration to develop operational recommendations and potential program changes to The City’s Snow and Ice Control Program. Administration will be reviewing workshop learnings and operational recommendations with Council later this summer
