The City of Red Deer is looking for engaged citizens to enter a variety of roles within City committees. 

These committees range from housing advisory boards, to municipal planning, recreation programs, to subdivision planning and much more. 

Individuals are needed from all kinds of backgrounds, including professionals and citizens at large to help bring diverse perspectives and new opinions to the commissions. 

Applications are currently being accepted and will be accepted via Legislation Services through the City of Red Deer until September 30th. 

Members are needed for the following boards, committees, and commissions:

  • Community Housing Advisory Board
  • Intermunicipal Subdivision & Development Appeal Board
  • Library Board
  • Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee
  • Municipal Planning Commission
  • Public Art Commission
  • Red Deer & District Family and Community Support Services Board
  • Red Deer Appeal & Review Board/Red Deer Subdivision & Development Appeal Board (joint appointment)
  • Red Deer Regional Airport Board
  • River Bend Golf & Recreation Society Board

The City is looking for people who have an open mind, are fair and willing to contribute their time and knowledge. Applicants should be able to interpret legislation and communicate effectively.

Each volunteer position has a different level of commitment and terms vary in length. Detailed information for each board, committee, and commission is available online at reddeer.ca/committees.

Those interested in joining a board, committee or commission are invited to complete the required application form and submit it to Legislative Services no later than September 30, 2019, by 9 a.m. Applications can be submitted in person, by fax to 403-346-6195, or by email to legislativeservices@reddeer.ca.
