Central Alberta's Prairie Fire Midget Football Team will be braving the elements tonight for a game against the Calgary Hilltoppers.

They'll be playing at M.E Global tonight at 7 o'clock.

Head Coach Patrick Callan says in their 6th season, their grade 9 to 11 students continue to get stronger.

"It allows us to compete with the Calgary athletes, outside of our high school seasons. Which we only get to see at the Provincial level. So the biggest thing about this league is that it's allowed us to compete at a higher level more consistently."

Central Alberta's other Midget Football Team, the Battle River Shock are also in action this weekend in Lacombe.

They play tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
