Burman University Acronaires present their annual homeshow on Saturday here in Lacombe, "Hopes Last Hero: An Easter Production."

If you're not familiar with the 30 member team, Head Coach Richard Gray has an introduction to the performance-based team first established in 1973.

“We’re an acrobatics group, but not just acrobatic gymnastics we also involve things like liras and unicycle juggling. We’re a faith based team which means we go out and do ministry as well.”

“We’ve been to public schools, we’ve been to countries all over the world like Kenya, Belize, Jamaica and last year we went to Hawaii.”

The annual homeshow is their biggest show of the year and Girl's Team Captain Nya Guet said a lot of hard work has gone into this year’s production.

“We practice a lot. The last two weeks we practiced three hours a night, we usually do two hours a night and it’s pretty intense.”

“At the first of the year we do fundamentals so we just kind of burn people out,  get them ready and then regularly we have warm-ups and we try to stay in pretty good shape. It’s not easy, but I think because we’re fun and supportive the hard work is fun.”

The Acronaires Homeshow is completely free to attend; it starts at 7 p.m. Saturday night at the Burman University Physical Education Centre.
