Penhold Volunteer Firefighters were honoured as Mayor Yargeau and Acting Fire Chief Pendergast presented members with Firefighter of the Year (2020, 2021) and Officer of the Year (2020, 2021) awards.

The Firefighter of the Year awards are voted on by the Fire Department Officers based on volunteer time commitments, working with fellow members and enhanced training. Firefighter of the Year Recipients:

Firefighter Quinlan Parsons, 2020: Firefighter Parsons is an incredibly dedicated volunteer and attends the majority of all calls. He attends most emergency calls while providing leadership and coaching to our new recruits, helping drive the departments diversity and inclusion.

Lieutenant Justin Graham, 2021: Lieutenant Graham is no longer a firefighter but rather is a Medical Officer. Justin is the liaison between the department and AHS and oversees the First Aid training for the town.

The Officer of the Year awards are given to the officer who volunteers their time to ensure varying programs/projects are achieved, while mentoring and supporting our volunteers. Officer of the Year Recipients:

Lieutenant Brittany Evans, 2020: Lieutenant Evans oversees the cadet program and has made great strides with focused training and is seeing substantive uptake of interest from the local high school.

A special word of thanks to ATCO for donating funds towards this great learning program.

Captain Warren Kitteringham, 2021: Captain Kitteringham has been a key player volunteering his time ensuring the building and equipment is kept in safe working order, while directing the training and development of staff.

Thank you, Quinlan, Justin, Brittany, and Warren for your commitment to our fire department and community.
