Red Deer’s mask by law is officially in effect as of Monday, November 30th. Red Deer residents must wear a face covering in all indoor public places and public vehicles within the city.

Red Deer Municipal Policing Services and RCMP are asking the public be respectful to one another and adhere to the bylaw.

“This bylaw is about public safety, and our enforcement will reflect that,” says Bart Rowland, City of Red Deer Municipal Policing Services Manager. “Where appropriate, we will have conversations with individuals in an effort to educate, but will also issue fines as needed.”

Complaints regarding masking and other Public Health Order restrictions such as social gatherings and other requirements can result in a ticket ranging from $50 to $1000.
