The Lacombe and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has received a $2,500 donation for this year’s Tools for School program from Envision Manufacturing and Supply. The donation will help supply 200 children and youth with their back-to-school kits and backpacks.

In 2021, 126 local children used Tools for School and 124 students received new school shoes. 121 students received a backpack and supplies. 5 students received a Chromebook rental and back pack.

The Lacombe FCSS can assist with a variety of ways from providing school supplies to covering school or bus fees.

“It's been such an incredibly tough economic year for people and even the price of gas and the increase in utilities and food. If people are feeling stressed and if they've never asked for help before, please come in. It's a confidential process and we really want to take the stress off families and support the kids for a successful year of learning for sure,” said Executive Director of the Lacombe FCSS Crystal Zens.

This week, students and families will be able to pick up their supplies at the Lacombe FCSS office. However, there is still time to apply to receive supplies for your kids or donate to support the program.
