The Lacombe Chamber of Commerce’s Passport to Christmas is back. It’s a great chance for you to shop local and collect points to win Lacombe bucks.

As with many things in 2020, the Passport program had to be done a bit differently this year. Instead of actual paper passports which get stamped, you are asked to download a “Get in the loop” ap on your phone. Monica Bartman, Executive Director of The Lacombe Chamber of Commerce, said they wanted to try something different this season.

“Trying out a digital platform is something we have talked about for the past few years, but there was never a great reason to pursue it.  When 2020 happened, and everyone was looking at new ways of doing everything, we thought now is the time.”

During last year’s promotion over 18,000 paper passports were handed out. That is something that the Chamber wanted to do differently this year.

"Each time you try something new it’s a bit stressful and you have to figure it out as you go, but 2020 has been a year of figuring it out as you go, so it seemed like a good time to take our program in a new direction. Businesses have been so supportive, excited and patient with us as we sort through the details and we’re hopeful that public will love this new format”

The Passport to Christmas program starts on November 26th, which is the start of Lacombe’s Light Up The Night and will run right up to December 24th.

This year there are 65 local businesses participating in the program. Once you have downloaded the app to your phone, you will see a list of these businesses and special deals they may have. For every 50 dollars spent, it is another entry form for you to win prizes.

You can win:

Grand Prize $2000

Second Prize $1000 (x2)

Third Prize $500 (4)

15 early bird draws of $100!!!

The winners’ names will be announced New Year’s Eve on Sunny 94.
