The L.A. Vintage Machinery Club will be hosting a Father’s Day Pull & Show this weekend (June 16-18) at the Lacombe Ag Society Grounds. The club’s annual tractor pull will include train rides, concession, meals and all antique engines and vehicles are welcome.

The event will kick off on Friday through to Sunday regardless of what the weather does this weekend.

“Rain or shine, we’re going to go ahead like we always do. We use it as an example to have a campout. The equipment will be lined up. There will be lots to look at whether you have to put your duck shoes on,” said Jared Nafziger, President of the L.A. Vintage Machinery Club.

Tractor pulls won’t be able to happen in the rain but if there is a break in the moisture, they will be operating.

“We've got the equipment there to kind of scrape the track down and do some maintenance,” added Nafziger.

The vehicle parade also cannot happen in the mud which typically happens at 1:00PM on Saturday and Sunday. However, the forecast does appear to have clear skies for Friday and Saturday. Nafziger says you can expect some pretty unique pieces and machinery.

“Some of the stuff is going back as early as the turn of this century. We've got stuff on display that shows cutting and harvesting equipment, some stuff that's used to process grass and hay feed for cattle. We've got old bailers, we've got equipment that was used for breaking land in the early days of plowing. We've also got our small museum which is attached right to our main building which shows everything from tools that were used to photos of the past,” he explained.

A flea market will be on site over the weekend and there are three meals planned. A pancake breakfast will be happening on Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:00AM and a dinner planned for Saturday night at 6:00PM.

“Saturday evening is our big supper and I really invite anyone that wants to come out for a real good quality home cooked meal to come and join us at 6:00 PM. That will likely go right till eight or whenever our customers kind of peter off. We've always got more than enough food because there's nothing more embarrassing than coming up a little short on looking after your guests,” explained Nafziger.

Nafziger adds that it will be a great way to get to know the L.A. Vintage Machinery Club and visit with others who are interested in antique machinery. He invites anyone in the area to come check it out!
