The 2021 Federal Election is going to be a very short campaign and it may be wise to consider how you will be voting now before it is too late. Election Day will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 which is only a month away. In this election, you can vote in one of four ways: on election day, on advance polling days, by mail, or at any Elections Canada office by September 14, 2021.

Advanced Polls

Advanced polls will be available as soon as the following dates:

  • September 10, 2021
  • September 11, 2021
  • September 12, 2021
  • September 13, 2021

At this time, voting locations have not been determined.

Mail in Voting

Additionally, you can vote by mail. However, those who wish to mail in their vote should be registered with any Elections Canada office across Canada by September 14th at 6:00 PM.  You can also apply for mail-in voting online, here.

Those who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should apply to vote by mail or call the Election Canada office for help with voting.

Elections Canada Office

Elections Canada Offices are not open yet as their locations have not been determined. They will open during following times:

  • Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00PM
  • Sunday 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

What do you need?

In order to vote, you will need proof of identity and address. You can find a list of accepted ID here. In order to vote, electors will also need to be registered at their current address. You can register to vote online by following this link.

"We encourage electors to use our Online Voter Registration Service. By registering, checking and updating their information early, electors will be sure to get a voter information card. Because of the pandemic, we may be using non-traditional polling locations. The voter information card will give electors all the information they need to plan their safe voting experience," says Chief Electoral Officer Stéphane Perrault
