At 9:18 this morning Environment Canada ended the freezing rain warning for Central Alberta. It looks like it will be a nice day if you have any plans for New Year's Day. The expected high for today is zero with periods of light snow and flurries into this evening.

There is a risk of freezing rain overnight and local snowfall amounts of 2-4 cms. Watch for blowing snow as well, with  wind gusts between 40 and 60 km/hr overnight.

According to AMA road reports and 511 Alberta,  the highways in Central Alberta are partially covered and slippery in some sections. There are no reports of any incidents in traffic at this time. For the latest traffic updates visit our link here.
