From Ponoka RCMP:

The RCMP arrested and laid charges against on male following a complaint of a suspicious vehicle that occurred on October 19, 2019. At 9:55 a.m., Ponoka RCMP responded to a 911 call of a suspicious S.U.V. stuck in a field and a male loading generators and an air compressor. 

Members of the Ponoka RCMP attended the location and the male fled from the S.U.V. which was confirmed stolen. With assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, Ponoka RCMP were able to locate and arrest the male without further incident.

Further investigation revealed that the male was in possession of a handheld taser along with numerous other stolen items. 

43-year-old Christopher Hannah of Innisfail, Alberta is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Over $5000.
  • 6 Counts of Possession of Property Under $5000.
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order

Hannah was subject to a judicial interim release hearing.  He was released for a first court appearance on October 25th, 2019 in Ponoka.
