The Central Alberta Bucanneers are gearing up for the 2021 season.

Vince Roth an executive member and offensive lineman for the team says they will have a season this year. " July 17th we will open our season up and then it's going to be a bit of a condensed season, with everything wrapped up at the end of August."

The Bucs are now practicing every Tuesday and Thursday night at ME Global Park in Lacombe. Roth says they are still not sure where they will be playing games this year. " We are not !00% certain on that right now, we are sorting out details with The City of Red Deer and as well with the LAPA (Lacombe Athletic Park Association). Hopefully soon we'll have answers regarding that."

Even though the season has almost began, the team is always looking for new players. "Even up until and continuing into the season, we are always willing to accept all newcomers and anyone interested in playing the game. So if you are interested, find us on facebook and we'll get you some details."

One of the things that is very important to the Bucs is their community involvement. Roth says that will not change for 2021. " The biggest thing we are right in the middle of right now is our blood drive with Canadian Blood services. We have about five days left in our competitive blood drive with the Red Deer Titans Rugby Club as well as The Calgary Rage Women's Football Team. So if you have a blood donation appointment coming up, donate on behalf of The Bucs."
