The Government of Alberta has teamed up with Native Counselling services of Alberta to launch an app designed to support former and current youth navigate the adult world.

The free app called Connection gives access to information to help young adults make the transition into adulthood. It provides practical information on how to do your taxes, easy recipes, and life hacks for household chores.

“We know that young adults coming out of government care need financial, social and emotional resources to help them successfully transition into the next phase of their lives. This app is a critical tool to help them at a crucial period in their lives and will give them access to important information at their fingertips,” said Rebecca Schulz, Minister of Children’s Services.

The Connections app is a tool to make sure youth and young adults have convenient and immediate access to important supports and resources on topics such as housing, budgeting, school, employment and mental health.
