Today we officially launch The Vibrant Vegan, a weekly blog on lacombeonline.com sharing a new recipe that I have tried at home and a review of the meal.
But before I get too ahead of myself, let's start with the question I get asked most often,
What does it mean to be vegan?
Veganism is a lifestyle where I choose not to consume any animal products. That means I avoid foods that include meat, eggs and dairy products. Basically if it came from an animal, I do my best to stay away!
To many people who ask, the idea of cutting out those kinds of foods can be daunting!!
A lot of times, I get questions like:
"What about bacon?"
"No cream for my coffee?"
"Do you just eat salads all day?"
The truth is, while the adjustment can take some getting used to, I can honestly say I have never felt healthier or more balanced in my life.
My hope for this blog is to not necessarily convert you into a vegan. Rather I want to share yummy recipes that I have enjoyed and that most importantly, promote a healthy and sustainable way of eating. Filled with oodles of veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds
