Hi there! I'm Jackie Oliver - host of The Ride Home on Sunny 94.
If you see me out and about, say hello! I love meeting the people that make Central Alberta such a fun, exciting place to live. What I love about the music we play is the nostalgia it brings and how the right song can put the biggest smile on your face. I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and The Guess Who - who will always have a special place in my heart (seeing Burton Cummings at The Memorial Centre was a definite Bucket List moment).
After the show, I head home to cook up a delicious dinner where the tunes are always on. My record player is named Jude (I name everything, including the houseplants I've managed to keep alive for the past 2 years - Mr. Aloe, Mr. Bamboo, and Mystery Leaf Plant) and my record collection grows each time I visit an antique shop. I've been crocheting for years and love the feeling of gifting someone with a project that I've put my heart into (lots of blankets and one vest). My Butter Tart recipe is a secret but if you're looking to make a great Bolognese Sauce, I'd be happy to share how I do mine (there's pesto involved).
It's such a treat to spend my days adventuring around Central Alberta and playing the tunes you love. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me, I look forward to hearing from you soon!
