ALERT's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has arrested 40-year-old Darren Reilly, and charged him with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Reilly worked part-time at Tykes and Tots Day Home in Wetaskiwin, as well as being currently employed as a Correctional Peace Officer.

The day home was searched by an ICE team on April 27th, with help from Wetaskiwin RCMP. Currently there is no information to suggest children at the day home were affected. However, in the interest of identifying potential victims, ICE is exploring all possibilities.

Reilly is accused of downloading and accessing child sexual exploitation materials. ICE began their investigation after receiving referrals from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Investigators are looking to speak with families who may have used the day home in the past. The day home has been in operations since 2001, and previous clients are asked to contact ICE investigators at 1-780-509-3371.

Reilly made his first court appearance today.
