On June 15, Mayor Steve Christie joined members of Council, City staff and special guests at the annual Volunteers of Distinction ceremony at the Lacombe Memorial Centre to honour and thank citizens, both past and present, who volunteer their time on the City's various boards, committees and commissions.

Representatives from the Municipal Planning Commission, Lacombe Police Commission, Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, Municipal Planning Commission, Lacombe and District Recreation, Parks and Culture Board, Lacombe Library Board, Heritage Resources Committee, Lacombe Arts Endowment, and the Lacombe Art Collection committees were in attendance.

"On behalf of Council, I want to formally thank each member of the groups represented here for their contributions to enhancing City of Lacombe's programs and services," said Mayor Steve Christie.
