From the Government of Alberta:

Albertans are invited to share their thoughts on fisheries management and expanded fishing opportunities at 11 open house events across the province.

The open houses will share details on fisheries management in Alberta and collect public feedback on proposals to open up additional opportunities for recreational harvest at specific lakes. Beginning Jan. 13, interested anglers may also submit feedback online at TalkAEP.Alberta.ca.

“Whether you prefer making the trek to a favourite spot off the beaten path or taking the kids to a stocked pond just outside the city, fishing is a part of Alberta’s cultural fabric. We promised to modernize a number of the province’s environmental provisions, and we look forward to listening to Albertans’ feedback. As an enthusiastic angler and outdoorsman, I look forward to working together to make our fisheries strong, healthy, vibrant and sustainable for generations to come.” Jason Nixon, Minister of Environment and Parks.

Feedback will be reflected in the 2020 Alberta Sportfishing Regulations, which come into effect on April 1.
