The Track on 2 was packed on election night (April 16, 2019.) with UCP supporters watching the election results go down.

All were happy to see Lacombe-Ponoka's Incumbent MLA, Ron Orr get elected for the constituency second election in a row.

Orr says the campaign was stressful, considering it was close and perhaps one of the most aggressive he’s ever seen, and now that it’s over the pressure is on.

“I’m happy to see fellow candidates across the province get in as well, but it’s also sobering because there is a lot of work that needs to be done.”

It was a record-breaking year for voter turnout, which he says doesn't come much of a surprise to him since the advanced polling options were improved.

Orr says now the push is on working to get more housing for seniors and work on Bill 6 for farmers.

“I think what we really need to be focused on now for the next little while is how do we get our economy going again, how do we renew some of the agriculture that we’ve lost.”
