Thanks to a generous grant from the provincial governments Visitor Services Innovation Fund, Lacombe Regional Tourism has a new tool when it comes to helping visitors get all the information they need, no matter where they are.

Lacombe received a total of $4,473 from the grant. The majority of it went to Lacombe Regional Tourism, with the rest being split between the Town of Blackfalds, and the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce.

Besides purchasing some new signs, the grant also enabled them to get a mobile visitors booth. This booth allows them to promote visitor services outside of the usual information centre located inside the Flat Iron building.

Marie Peron is the Executive Director for Lacombe Regional Tourism, and she says the new mobile booth will be able to provide tourists with a full itinerary of things to do.

"If we're out and about, and we also want to connect people with other things to see and do while they are enjoying our festivities, it allows us to pop on there and actually get the information, do some bookings on site for them, and be able to actually fulfill an itinerary for our visitors, off site, not (exclusively) at the Visitors Information Centre".

The first time you can see the new mobile visitors booth will be at Blackfalds Days, which is on from June 16 to the 18th.
