You can now get your hands on tickets to the 2019 Allan Cup, which will be held in Lacombe next year.

Last time the AAA men's national championship was hosted in Alberta was back in 2013.

“It’s a huge thing for central Alberta. It’s a huge thing for Lacombe,” said Steve Christie, 2019 Allan Cup committee chair.

“I’ve said it before, that Lacombe is no rookie to hosting events like this. It’s done a great job with some curling events in the past and we’re gearing up to do a great job for this in April 2019.”

Christie said the tournament will also be a windfall for sports tourism in the city.

“When you bring that number of people to town for a full week, I think it’s a great thing for the restaurants, it’s a great thing for the grocery stores, the gas stations,” he said.

“It’s a huge, huge plus to economic drive here in Lacombe.”

Meanwhile, the 2018-19 regular season schedule has been released for the Allan Cup Hockey West.
