From Sylvan Lake RCMP:

The RCMP are investigating a serious collision which occurred on August 6, leaving three people dead and one young child in the hospital.

At 9:19 p.m., the RCMP were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Highway 781 just south of the intersection with Range Road 382.  

Initial investigation indicates that a truck and an SUV collided head-on on Highway 781.

The 30-year-old male driver (and lone occupant) of the truck was pronounced deceased on scene.

The 39-year-old male driver of the SUV, along with a 5-year-old passenger were pronounced deceased.  

A 7-year-old passenger was transported via STARS Air Ambulance to an Edmonton hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The highway remained closed for a period of time while the Collision Analyst attended the collision scene to conduct an investigation.

There will be no update in relation to this collision as charges will not be pursued.
