From the Lacombe Police Service:

On the 22 of February 2019, at approximately 10:00 AM, members of the Lacombe Police Service were dispatched to the area of Elizabeth Park after a male was reported entering peoples back yards.

Police attended and located a male matching the description given by witnesses.

After further investigation, the male was found to be in possession of stolen property and break and enter tools.

It was noted that the stolen property in his possession was related to the increased number of break and enters in the City of Lacombe.

As a result, the following subject has been charged with offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Justin Eric ARNAULT (32 yrs of age) from Red Deer, Alberta with the following offences:

 Possession of property obtained by crime - Two (2) counts

 Possess break-in instruments – One (1) count

 Possession of a controlled substance – One (1) count

 Fail to comply with probation order– Three (3) counts

 Disobeying a court order - One (1) count

ARNAULT is was released by way of Recognizance and is scheduled to attend Red Deer Provincial Court February 26, 2019.

 

 

On the 25 of February 2019, at approximately 3:30 AM, members of the Lacombe Police Service conducted a routine traffic stop in the area of 50 Avenue and 52 Street in Lacombe.

After further investigation a male passenger was found to be on curfew conditions and was subsequently arrested. A search of the vehicle located a loaded firearm and a second firearm was located in the suspects possession.

Police further located Methamphetamine during that search.

During the incident another suspect was identified walking in the area who was associated to the occupants of the vehicle.

Police determined that this associate had also been in possession of a firearm which he had hidden near by upon seeing Police.

A search of area located the firearm. Upon arrest, methamphetamine and ammunition was also found in his possession.

As a result, the following subjects have been charged with offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Lyle Robert VANCE (26 yrs of age) from Red Deer, Alberta with the following 14 offences:

Obstruct Peace Officer - One (1) count

Careless storage of a firearm – One (1) count

Possess dangerous weapon – One (1) count

Possession of firearm while unauthorized– One (1) count

Possession of prohibited weapon - One (1) count

Possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized – One (1) count

Unauthorized possession a firearm in a motor vehicle – One (1) count

Unauthorized possession of a loaded prohibited firearm – One (1) count

Possession of a controlled substance – One (1) count

Possession of firearm in contravention of order- Two (2) counts

Breach of condition – Three (3) counts

Brent HLADUN (35 yrs of age) from Lacombe, Alberta with the following 5 offences:

Unauthorized possession of an unloaded firearm – One (1) count

Possession of a controlled substance – Two (2) counts

Possession of a firearm with no serial number – One (1) count

Fail to comply with Probation – One (1) count
