Sylvan Lakes popular Food Truck Thursdays will be staying put.

Town Council looked at moving the event from it's downtown location to the newly purchased waterslide property.

Lee Furlotte, Parks Manager in Sylvan says the unoccupied waterslide property would have solved some of the events problems.

"It was difficult to get equipment over there, we didn't have adequate storage, and we had to perform a road closure each week. So these were some of the things that could have been eliminated if we moved the event."

Furlotte says while that location may have been a bit better for vendors, Council decided to stay downtown for one big reason.

"Since the location was originally decided on to increase foot traffic in the downtown core. That's what council's overall decision was to keep it there."

Food Truck Thursdays will kick off again when the Summer months arrive, and run for 20 weeks.
