From Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/ Enoch RCMP: 

On March 2nd, 2018 members of the Stony Plain/ Spruce Grove Serious Crime Unit, Edmonton General Investigation Section, K Division Auto Theft Section (North), and the Central Alberta District Integrated Crime Reduction Unit conducted a joint investigation into the trafficking of stolen vehicles in the Spruce Grove area.  As a result, two suspects were arrested in the city of Edmonton and a stolen 2017 Nissan Titan pickup truck was recovered.

At the time of arrest, the two suspects were also in possession of 28 grams of fentanyl, 8 grams of methamphetamine, 87 grams of marihuana, Canadian currency, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a stolen handgun which was loaded when found by police.

34-year-old Brady SHIVAK of Stony Plain, AB faces numerous charges including;

  • ·possession of a stolen firearm
  • ·possession of a firearm without holding a proper license
  • ·possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • ·possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • ·possession of marihuana
  • ·trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5000

21-year-old Winter ALGER of Sylvan Lake, AB faces numerous charges including:

  • ·possession of a stolen firearm
  • ·possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • ·possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • ·possession of marihuana
  • ·trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5000

Both SHIVAK and ALGER were remanded into custody, and were scheduled to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on March 6th, 2018.
