After receiving tips from the public, charges have been laid in relation to an April 23 vehicle theft at the Best Western Hotel in Rimbey.

At 6:00 am on April 23, a man arrived at the Best Western Hotel in Rimbey on a bicycle, went into the hotel and stole a purse belonging to an employee. The suspect then used keys from the purse to steal a Dodge Cavan from the hotel parking lot. In May, RCMP issued a press release with surveillance images of the suspect and asked for the public's help to identify him.

As a result of information received from the public, Rimbey RCMP have charged 23-year-old Jared McLeod of Red deer with theft of a motor vehicle and three counts of theft under $5000. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Jared McLeod and he remains at large.
