From Sundre RCMP:

On October 18, 2018 at approximately 9:30 AM, RCMP Sundre detachment received a complaint from the Sundre Hospital advising that an adult male victim had attended the hospital suffering from a gun shot wound to his lower extremities. 

The victim stated to police that earlier that morning, he was at a bonfire party by the Red Deer River, where there were approximately 15-20 people, when he was shot.  

The victim was transported by an unknown person to the Sundre Hospital and dropped off. 

The victim could only provide vague information on the event such as where it occurred and if there were any witnesses. 

The male was transported to Calgary for further treatment of his non-life threatening injury.  "This event is very concerning to our office. 

At this time, we do not know the motivation behind the occurrence but would like to hear from anyone that can shed some light on this matter." Cpl Karl Mandel.
