The Lacombe Police Service is currently investigation a rash of vehicle and dumpster arsons that occurred between the late evening hours on September 25th and early morning hours on September 26th.

At approximately 11:52pm on September 25th, Lacombe Police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire in the 5200 block of 48th street.

The Lacombe Fire Department also attended and it was determined that a tire on the vehicle had been set on fire causing the tire to blowout.

The Fire department quickly extinguished the fire and no other damage was caused to the vehicle.

While at this location, Police were notified by the Fire Department that they had just put out a dumpster fire in the same area.

At approximately 1:25am Police received another complaint of a dumpster fire in the area of the Royal Canadian Legion located in the 5100 block of 49th street.

At approximately 2:25am Police received another complaint of a dumpster fire in the 5200 block of 50th street.

In all these incidents the Lacombe Fire Department were able to extinguish the fires containing the damage to only the dumpsters.

With the fires being contained to a small geographical area, RCMP Police Dog Section attended, however no suspects were located.
