From Stettler RCMP

On March 21st, 2018 at approximately 9:00am, Stettler RCMP were alerted to a suspicious person requesting assistance in replacing a tire on a vehicle, at a rural property in the Big Valley/Byemoor area.
Upon police arrival, the male fled the property in the vehicle, which was later determined to be stolen.
 
Stettler RCMP and Blackfalds Integrated Traffic members tracked the vehicle to another rural property where it was ditched and an F-350 stolen.
 
With the assistance of observant passers by, police were able to roughly track the F-350 as it proceeded North towards Stettler.
 
At approximately 11:00am, Bashaw RCMP received a complaint of a male attempting to gain entry into vehicles using a hammer, in Alix. With the description of the male matching the days previous investigations, Stettler RCMP and Blackalds ITU members attended to provide assistance.
 
After a brief foot pursuit in Alix, 29yr old Kyle Grams was taken into custody. It was determined that while Grams was in Alix, he had caused mischief to some vehicles, broke into a garage and stole some items. Physical evidence was obtained from each scene linking Grams to all 3 investigations.
 
Grams has been remanded into custody to attend court on Monday March 26th. He is facing charges including Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Flight from Police, Mischief among others.
 
Stettler RCMP would like to thank the general public for their assistance and timely reporting of the incidents that resulted in the successful arrest of a known property offender.

Between the late evening of March 16th, 2018 and the early morning of March 17th, 2018 a break and enter occurred at the Bar Harbour Camp in the County of Stettler.
 
The property was ransacked with an estimated damage value of $5,000.00 and numerous items were stolen including tools, jerry cans, food and other miscellaneous items.
