A showcase of how Albertans are making a positive impact on the environment takes place this Saturday at Red Deer College.

The sixth-annual Eco-Living Fair is an event where visitors can learn about lifestyle choices they can make to reduce their ecological footprint, says Sarah Grass from the non-profit organization ReThink Red Deer.

“We’re hoping that we can provide people with some solutions they can put into practise right away, so how to reduce waste, harvest rain water, plant trees or pollinator gardens or make your own eco-friendly products,” Grass says.

There will be about 30 exhibitors and 17 workshops on topics such as solar power generation, beekeeping and sustainable gardening.

Each workshop session costs $5 to attend, or $20 for an unlimited pass.

General admission to the fair is free.

The fair will be located at The Forum and Margaret Parsons Theatre.
