It was a mix of fun and education out at the Brown Eggs and Lamb farm Saturday afternoon.

Live music, a kid’s obstacle course and a 4-H sheep demonstration highlighted their Lambikini Welcomes Summer customer appreciation event.

Co-owner of Brown Eggs and Lamb Laura Siebenga said it’s important for them to recognize all their supporters.

“A lot of customers are summer people, although we have lots of local customers too, but this is when they head back to their cabins.  We decided to have this

Lambikini, in fitting with what we sell, welcoming summer and welcoming our summer customers back.”

The sheep demonstrations, led by the 4-H club, stole the show and much to the delight of 12-year-old Sophia Hoogland.

“We’re showing our sheep because it’s Lambikini and they needed lambs. So, we’re just showing our sheep and doing some crafts with the kids.”

4-H club member and 13-year-old Charlotte Cutts said it great teaching other kids what being in the club is like.

“We brought our sheep to show them off by walking our sheep around just so they can learn about what we do all the time and see what it’s like.”

Blacksmith demonstrations, local artist displays and free ice cream were also part of the event.
