After a pair of armed robberies this past weekend in Lacombe, Mac's is introducing new security measures to better protect their staff and business.

Over the weekend, both the Mac's and Husky were robbed, with the suspects allegedly producing a firearm at the Mac's and a knife at the Husky to demand cash and cigarettes of the clerks.

Mac's Owner/Manager Ram Perisal says they'll be adding more security cameras, having more than one staff member working the overnight shift, and be keeping the front entrance locked overnight, leaving customers to ring a buzzer and giving their staff control of who comes in and out.

"They ring the bell and we can open it for them if the cashier feels safe. If somebody is a costumer or if somebody has a covered face she can see when they are outside".

Perisal also operates the Hwy 12 Liquor Store in town, and says similar security measures have been put in place there, but overnight security is not as much of an issue since they close at 11pm.

Lacombe Police continue to work to identify the two male suspects.
