Burman University hosts one of Canada's most famous humanitarians for a free lecture at the Lacombe Memorial Centre tonight.

Retired Canadian Senator and Lieutenant General Roméo Dallaire is the latest guest of the Herr Lecture series hosted by the University, which brings in leading experts to address the most important social and political issues we're facing as Canadians.

Director of the Series Glen Graham says they are thrilled at the opportunity to host such a devoted humanitarian and champion of human rights “he was UN Force Commander during Rwandan Genocide, he is seen by many people as a hero for the actions he took during the Rwandan Genocide. His actions are credited with saving over 30,000 people during those tragic events. He’s also a former Senator and Founder of the Roméo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative”.

Dallaire’s talk is titled “International Conflict Resolution in this New Era” which will address the increased political instability that we're seeing across the globe today according to Graham “issues like the refugee crisis, the wars that we’re seeing in the Middle East and he’s going to help us sort through some of these questions”.

It's a free lecture, open to everyone; it starts at 7:30 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.
