On Monday, October 16, 2017, at approximately 4:00 a.m., an alert Rocky Mountain House RCMP officer on patrol noticed a stolen vehicle from Edmonton parked at a local motel.

The officer waited for whomever stole it to return to the stolen Ford pickup truck.

A 30 year old male, a resident of Red Deer, was arrested when he returned to the stolen vehicle.

Shortly after, a second stolen Chevrolet pickup truck, also stolen from Edmonton, pulled into the parking lot being driven by a 20 year old female who was also subsequently arrested.

The investigation revealed that the culprits were renting a room at the motel. 

Rocky Mountain House RCMP executed a Search Warrant, entering the room where they arrested a 32 year old female who is very well known to police.

Police recovered numerous stolen items in the room, including: stolen drivers licenses, personal identification, credit cards, Correctional Service Officer Badge and narcotics.

The items recovered have been linked to crimes previously committed in Red Deer, Bentley, Olds and Sylvan Lake.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP have laid numerous criminal charges in this case, including possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of methamphetamine.
