From Rocky Mountain House RCMP – On May 26, 2018 at approximately 9:30 pm, Rocky Mountain House RCMP received a complaint of a disturbance at a residence involving a possible handgun. Rocky Mountain House RCMP attended the residence and arrested the male for failing to comply with his conditions. No one was injured during this incident.

The scene was contained by the Rocky Mountain House RCMP and a search warrant was executed at the residence. Several firearms and ammunition were seized from the residence.

Jason Roy, a 31-year-old male from Rocky Mountain House, has been charged with the following criminal offences:

  • ·Sec 145(5.1)- Criminal Code- Fail to Comply with Condition (X2)
  • ·Sec 92(1)- Criminal Code- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • ·Sec 86(1)- Criminal Code- Careless Use of Firearm 

Jason Roy was released on a recognizance with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Rocky Mountain House Provincial Court on June 6, 2018.

The RCMP will not provide any additional information or details in relation to this investigation as this matter is now before the courts.
