From Rocky Mountain House RCMP:

On Saturday, March 9th, 2019 Rocky Mountain House RCMP members were involved in an investigation into drug trafficking at a local residence. Later that evening officers executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act at the residence.

  • Police searched the residence and located a small amount of cocaine, methamphetamine and stolen property.
  • As a result of the investigation a 29-year-old male from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta is currently facing the following charges:
  • Possession of Cocaine – S.4(1) CDSA
  • Possession of Methamphetamine – S. 4(1) CDSA
  • Possession of Proceeds of Stolen Property under $5000.00 – S.355(B) CC

The male was released from custody to appear in Rocky Mountain House Provincial Court on April 17th, 2019.

On Friday, March 15th, 2019, Rocky Mountain House RCMP members were patrolling the O’Chiese First Nation. An officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of sped and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The vehicle fled from the officer eventually becoming stuck in a ditch. Two males ran from the vehicle. After a lengthy foot pursuit responding officers arrested both males. A search of the male driver and the subsequent vehicle resulted in police locating methamphetamine, a machete-style weapon and a large amount of Canadian currency.

A 22-year-old male from the Sunchild First Nation, Alberta is in custody and currently facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine – S.4(1) CDSA
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000.00 – S.355(A) CC
  • Flight from police – S.320.17 CC
  • Breach of Recognizance – S.145(3) CC
  • Drive without a licence – S.51(A) TSA
  • Drive without Motor vehicle insurance – S.54(1)(A) TSA
  • Operate an unregistered Motor vehicle – S.52(1)(A) TSA

The passenger of the vehicle, a 25-year-old male was released on a promise to appear.
