From Rocky Mountain House RCMP

As a result of targeted patrols in a crime hot spot area, Rocky Mountain House RCMP members have arrested a male and female and seized a large amount of drugs indicative of drug trafficking.  Charges have been laid against both subjects.

On March 13 at 12:40 p.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP spotted a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in a targeted crime hotspot area.   Members observed a female and male in the vehicle and immediately recognized the male passenger as he was arrestable for breaching his Recognizance.  

The RCMP officer observed the passenger making efforts to conceal drugs and money from view in the vehicle.  Both occupants were arrested.   A subsequent search of the occupants and vehicle revealed a large amount of crack cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone and heroin.  RCMP members also located and seized a large amount of Canadian currency, a police radio scanner and drug trafficking paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Tyler Shaw, 32 years old, of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta is currently facing numerous charges including:

Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking – S. 5(2) CDSA

Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking - S. 5(2) CDSA

Possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking - S. 5(2) CDSA

Possession of proceeds of crime – S.354(1)(a) CC

Failing to comply with a Recognizance X 4 – S.145(3) CC

At the time of the offence Shaw was on three separate Recognizances from three jurisdictions and subsequently remanded into custody.

Deanne Guenther, 32 years old, of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta is currently facing numerous charges including:

Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking - S. 5(2) CDSA

Possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking - S. 5(2) CDSA

Possession of proceeds of crime – S.354(1)(a) CC

Guenther was released on a Recognizance with a court appearance of April 11, 2018 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
