On October 13, 2017, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP, EMS and Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 11 west of town at the intersection of Highway 756.

A northbound Ford F250 truck on Highway 756 collided with a westbound semi trailer truck in the intersection of Highway 11.

The semi trailer truck had an unloaded fuel tank trailer. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch.

A 58 year old man, a resident of Rocky Mountain House, driving the Ford pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Semi truck was transported via EMS to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene to assist with the investigation into the cause of the collision.

Road conditions are not believed to be a factor in this case and the investigation is ongoing.

Next of kin have been notified and the identity of the deceased male will not be provided by the RCMP.
