Update May 23/18:  The Rimbey RCMP responded to a home invasion on April 13 and with the assistance of Red Deer GIS, identified suspects.

An arrest warrant was issued for 30-year-old Jimmy Delane Morsette of Blackfalds. The RCMP can confirm that on May 18, Morsette was arrested by Bonnyville RCMP without incident.

Morsette is remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court via CCTV on June 1, 2018 in Rimbey.

The Rimbey RCMP continue to investigate this home invasion and are working to identify the fourth suspect.

May 2/18 - From Rimbey RCMP:

Following a home invasion and assault that is reported to have occurred on April 13, the Rimbey RCMP, with the assistance of Red Deer General Investigation Section (GIS), have laid charges against three suspects and are working to identify the fourth.  One of the males remains wanted on an arrest warrant and public assistance is being sought to locate him.

In the early morning of April 13, two males were woken in a residence when four suspects entered the residence and assaulted both males.  The males suffered minor injuries.  Rimbey RCMP with the assistance of Red Deer Forensic Identification Section responded to investigate this incident.  Three suspects were identified as follows:

24-year-old Tyson Richard Ethier of Sylvan Lake was charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and two counts of fail to comply with a probation order.  A warrant for his arrest was issued, and he was arrested in Red Deer on April 30.  He remains in custody with several conditions and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Rimbey via CCTV on Friday, May 4.

32-year-old Samantha Leone Lewis of Ponoka is charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and fail to comply with a probation order.  She was arrested on April 17 in Rocky Mountain House.  A judicial interim release hearing was held and she was released on a Recognizance to attend Provincial Court in Rimbey on June 1, 2018.

30-year-old Jimmy Delane Morsette of Blackfalds is charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.  He has not been located by the RCMP and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.  Jimmy is described at 5’8” tall and 216 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes and may be sporting a goatee.

The investigation leads RCMP to believe that this was a targeted event and that the general public was not at risk either during or after this incident.  The suspects in this incident are known to the Rimbey RCMP.  The investigation into this occurrence continues and the RCMP are seeking information about the identity of the fourth male suspect.
